About:
This 200-hr Teacher Training is Canadian Yoga Alliance Certified.
Participants will be inspired and empowered to develop and transform as teachers and as individuals. This training offers an in-depth understanding of traditional hatha yoga asanas (historical context and alignment); a study of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and Bhagavad Gita; an embodied experience of physical and energetic alignment in action; providing you with skills, and confidence to teach Hatha and Hatha-Vinyasa Yoga, as well as simple meditation and pranayama techniques.
Curriculum Overview:
We are committed to training biomechanically intelligent teachers who can support their love of yoga with a deep understanding of and respect for functional movement and personal transformation.
You will develop a rich foundation in anatomy and alignment, class sequencing, philosophy, physical and energetic anatomy, mantra, mythology, chanting, pranayama, self-care practices, and teaching methodology such as teaching with confidence and how to teach to every-body including those with special needs such as students with injuries or who are pregnant.
You will be given homework assignments consisting of; recommended reading, a summation of The Bhagavad Gita to be presented in Module 3, personal practice recommendations, and practice teaching hours during the time between in-person sessions.

Deepen your practice and understanding of functional movement through classes, anatomy modules and asana labs, and begin the study of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.

This will be an immersion into anatomy, asana, pranayama, meditation, mythology, mantra, teaching methodology, and a deepening of your understanding of yoga philosophy.

Anatomy modules: Foot/Ankle/Knee, Hip, Hand/Wrist/Arm, Shoulder, Skull/Spine/Bones/Joints, Core, Muscle Tissue + Connective Tissue,

Asana Labs to explore asana and alignment in complex poses such as twists, arm balances and inversions
Teaching Methodology + teaching skills
Introduction to sequencing for Hatha and Hatha-Vinyasa classes
Philosophy: Completion of The Yoga Sutras
Practice Teaching + feedback to hone your skills
Module III: Skill in Action
Take the seat of the teacher; develop, refine, and take action with your teaching skills.

Application of advanced teaching skills such as language, voice, cueing, and space-holding

Asana labs to explore the alignment of complex backbends, seated poses, and supine poses

*Online classroom hours will consist of Anatomy + Physiology (Anatomy + Physiology, Biomechanics), and Yoga Humanities (History, Philosophy, Ethics).
